Where is my USB port?
The location of USB ports differ from computer to computer,
but typically they are located on either the back or the
front of your PC. Certain laptops may have a USB port on
the side.
How do I save my information onto the Data Tag?
Once you have entered all the information you wish to upload
simply click on the button marked “Create Emergency
File.”
What if I don’t have access to a computer?
Data Tag is designed to be read by the computers of medical
personnel so you do not have to have a computer for the product
to work for you. However, you must have access to a Windows
based computer to install your information on Data Tag. If
you do not have access to a computer, SOS Alert Emergency
ID Dog Tag may be a more appropriate item for you. Your information
is written on an insert card protected between two pieces
of high-grade aluminum. More information is available on
the website.
What is your return policy?
All returns must include a Return Authorization
Number. We only accept returns of defective merchandise.

Will Data Tag work on my Mac?
At this time Data Tag only works with Windows based
PCs.
Is Data Tag waterproof?
Data Tag is not designed to be worn while showering
or swimming, however, should Data Tag get wet, simply dry
the flash module completely before inserting in a computer.
Will First Responders and medical professionals know what
to do with Data Tag?
Data Tag is worn around the neck and hangs in a
vital signs area. The star of life symbol on the outer case
alerts medical personnel to the presence of further patient
information.
Is my information secure?
Like your wallet, you need to keep Data Tag safe,
however you enter as much or as little information as you
are comfortable with. No third party is involved, none of
your information is on the web.
How can I tell the difference between my Data Tag and other
members’ of my family?
Data Tag™ comes with three different colored
shells, silver, red and blue to help you keep your Data Tag
separate from family members. Many people also personalize
their Data Tag with permanent markers, stickers or even nail
polish.
Can I use several Data Tags on the same computer?
Yes. Simply copy and rename the files for each Data Tag.
See below for step-by-step instructions.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MULTIPLE DATA TAG USERS ON THE SAME COMPUTER:
1) Install
the Data Tag software.
2) Navigate
to the default destination folder; C:\Program Files\SOS Alert
Products.
3) Open
the folder by double clicking.
4) Select
the SOSUSB folder. Right click and select “Copy”.
5) Deselect
the folder (single click anywhere in the open space surrounding
the folder), right click and select “Paste.”
Repeat steps 4) and 5) for each individual Data Tag.
6) Right
click on each newly created SOSUSB folder and rename. Use
the name of each separate Data Tag user followed by SOSUSB
(ie.NewuserSOSUSB).
TO CREATE A DESKTOP SHORTCUT:
1) Double
click on the newly created folder to open. Right click on
the icon with logo titled SOSusb.exe select “Send To”
then “Desktop (create shortcut)”.
2) Locate
the newly created shortcut on the desktop, right click and
select “Rename”. Enter the name of the new user
from step #6.
3) Repeat
these steps for each user of Data Tag.
Each user
can then double click on their own named shortcut to access
or change their emergency records.
What about privacy issues?
The DataTag software will help you create an electronic document that may contain personal health care information and you, the user, are obligated to
make sure the information entered and saved in said document is correct and accurate. SOS or affiliates, vendors, distributors, or developers of this
software are not responsible or accountable for the accuracy and veracity of any information entered in said document. We strongly recommend that
after you enter information in the document, and have it save to the USB device, that you review the document for accuracy. You, the user, are
obligated to maintain the document with current and accurate information and in a safe and confidential manner. This device is not a
substitute for communicating with your physician.
What is HIPAA?
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act covers many health care issues. The Privacy Rule, as well as all the Administrative Simplification
rules, applies to health plans, health care clearing houses, and to any health care provider who transmits health care information in electronic form in
connection with transactions for which the government has adopted standards under HIPAA. HIPAA does not cover devices such as those offered by SOS Alert

Yes, DataTag and DataTag Bracelet work with Microsoft Windows Vista. Please download this file and
install or drag it to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\SOS Alert Products\SOSUSB\
To find this folder, on your desktop
- Double click My Computer
- Double click Local Disk (C)
- Double click Program Files
- Double click SOS Alert Products
- Double click SOSUSB
- Drag the file previously downloaded to this folder if you did not install it directly.
Your DataTag product should work properly now.

- Can I update my information on my SOS Alert dog tag?
It is recommended that you carefully complete the information card correctly the first time. Carefully consider who you would like to be contacted in case of an emergency. The SOS Alert dog tag features a neoprene seal with a strong 3M adhesive. To ensure the seal is as waterproof as possible, you should not reopen SOS Alert dog tag once you have removed the sticker and secured the dog tags in place. Be sure to replace the silicone silencer to further secure the dog tags in place. Once you have sealed your SOS Alert dog tag, it should not be opened until an emergency situation arises. Should you make an error when you are completing your SOS information card, download a new one by clicking the link above.

- What type of pen can I use to write on my ID Bracelet?
Only a standard ball point pen can be used.
- Can I erase and reuse my ID Bracelet?
No. This product can only be written on
once.
- How do i adjust the wristband to fit my wrist or ankle?
SOS Alert ID Bracelets can be adjusted to fit even the small wrist of a child. To adjust, simply wrap the bracelet around the wrist or ankle to determine the best fit. To reduce the size, cut with scissors at indicated marks on both sides equally. Leave as many notches as possible intact for stability.
